Eric Sylvers

Eric Sylvers was born in California in 1971. He studied at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and did his junior year abroad at the Università degli Studi di Padova. He earned his master’s in economics and international relations at Johns Hopkins University (Washington D.C. and Bologna).

At the conclusion of his studies in 1997, Eric began working for Bloomberg News in Washington D.C. and was transferred to Milan at the end of 1998. He worked at Bloomberg until 2003 when he became a full-time contributor to the New York Times and sister paper the International Herald Tribune following the Italian economy and wireless technology worldwide. He also wrote on travel, food and Italian culture.

Since April 2014 Eric has been a staff reporter with The Wall Street Journal in Milan.
